Sitting in our rented Land Rover Defender, I gaze around in awe as we drive through Iceland’s dramatic landscapes. As we continue to follow the road, the feeling of remoteness is present and all that is living are the scattered white dots painted across the green mountains, also known as sheep. Without an itinerary, we parked our home (car) at campsites or off the road and disappeared into nature. In this fast-paced world, Iceland’s bare nature and vast stretch allow for a slow living experience. Waking up to the sunrise and a cup of strong black coffee, we continued around the ring road, drifting off then and there, to find new sceneries and mysterious lands all around.
